The Full Moon in February occurs between the 19th-20th. We hope to be across the equator by that point and in the area where doldrum conditions are usually found in the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
The ITCZ is an area of heavy, often 100% cloud cover, which
will hide the stars from view. The moon may be the one celestial clue available
if it's light is bright enough to shine through from behind the clouds,
it can be used to give us a directional as it rises in the east during the
evening and sets in the west toward dawn.
